Dr. Charles Margerison describes the process involved in developing a BIOVIEW, what it means and how teachers and students can use these to learn about people who have made major contributions to our world. The resources are inspirational and will engage students in an entirely new way. Charles describes how students can utilise BioViews to embrace 'action-learning' via research, problem solving, etc. Teachers can use lesson plans in video or question format so that students can undertake group work and discussions. The Amazing People Club series covers many aspects of the curriculum from citizenship to environmental issues, as well as core subjects such as science, literature and history. Charles explains how understanding the motivations and ways of thinking of amazing people are important points for all students, providing role models and showing how they used their time well to reach their goals. Students are encouraged to develop their own BioViews (biographical interviews). The series can provide a pivotal stimulus to both teachers and students on topics such as character development, self esteem, achievements and career development.
